The Highbury Screamer
I had a couple of mates around earlier for the spuds v Newcastle game, and a few sherbets, and as occasionally happens,we,(with misty eyes),recounted some of our Highbury memories-games,people we stood/sat near, the bar in the North Bank that had the "stage" area next to it,and Steve asked if anyone remembered the "Highbury Screamer",the woman who moments before Arsenal scored a goal, let out an orgasmic scream as a pre-cursor to the ball rippling the onion bag.
Does anyone else remember her? Did anyone sit next to her? Does anyone know her identity?!!!

I can remember her, but never saw her.
My recollection though is that she let out her scream as the opposition scored not us.
She did get it wrong once or twice and let rip and our opponents missed but on the whole she was pretty accurate.

She was on a TV documentary about the last season of Highbury, the same one that featured Rodney P.
There is a "Notable fans" flag of her outside the stadium.
From what I saw on the TV show, her whole life is about looking after her mother and supporting Arsenal.

I often heard her,but never met her.
I always "knew" however, that she was "Home" supporter.

She goes everywhere but Newcastle (vertigo) - even followed the U21s abroad this year.
Every time I see her, I am amazed something so small can make so much noise.

11 seconds in and you can hear her scream...... it's also worth watching the calamitous Barthez at his very best
Great bit of skill by Freddie too!!!!

That isn't the woman I was thinking of Quartz...The one who (at highbury) used to be behind the goal and had this high pitched scream....I saw her a few times and she was a rather rotund, large black woman....<shrug>
