I don't take a lot of notice once past Xmas....... The list will look totally different by then, what with cup replays etc.

And when are the premier league going to employ a non scum supporting fixture list compiler? I am fucked off with away games on the last day. 5 out of the last 7 including the past 3 seasons, and now another one! I like to be going out for a beer post match not driving home. :cussing:

If we qualify, we have away league fixtures 5 out 6 games after the Champions League group games - Stoke home, then WBA, CPFC, Man Utd, Cardiff and Man City all away... Not good

Nice looking start to the season - hopefully we'll rack up a few points and grow with confidence. 8)

At least we won't have our usual Boxing Day postponement this year though imagine West Ham have similar issues.

Not happy having to play 5pur2 the weekend after our CLQ 2nd leg game for 2 reasons.
1) The stick we'd get if we didn't qualify
2) Possible tiredness, niggles etc after scraping through.
Makes the 1st leg vital that we get a good lead and how are we going to treat the Fulham away game inbetween?
:(

Just reading Wiki Europa League and see 5pur2 have to play a qualifier on 22 & 29th August, so my concern 2) not so relevent now.

This how it's going to go.

We'll have a flying start to the season and be comfortably in 2nd/3rd by end of October. AKBs will be talking about the title and saying AW was right not to make any marquee signings in the summer! We'll be all but qualified in the CL group.
Disastrous November and December getting slaughtered by manure, citeh and the chavs. Doom and gloom. We must buy in January.
January and February we go on a great run picking up 20 out a possible 24 points and are right back in the mix. A couple of good results in the FA cup and progress to the semi-final of the whatever it is called this year cup. AKBs glad we didn't waste money on any players in the January window.

We lose to Wigan in the WIICTY semi final and get knocked out of the CL on away goals. In March we go on a disastrous run getting knocked out of the FA Cup by a northern team beginning with B. We don't win a game until the April game v the shammers and then manage to get 13 points from the last 5 games to claim 4th place and the virtual trophy on goal difference. AKBs say Wenger did well to get 4th as he didn't spend any money in the windows, but they'll give him another year cos he has money to spend this summer........

Thus it is written.

Mystic Chippy.

We started at home to Villa on the first day of the 2006/07 season, and we secured the prestigious fourth placed trophy that year, so hopefully this will serve as a good omen!

Hold your horses though, because the Arsenal/Spuds game is usually the 12:45 Saturday kick-off.

It will be on Sunday as Spurs have a EL play off the Thursday before so i'd imagine it will be half 1

I mean we have manure after the scousers both times :cussing:
Do Utd, City & Chelsea really count as "big games" given we are only playing for 4th? More like games we probably expect to lose but might fluke the odd point here and there.

Looked at it once and thought good - hypothetically if we were challengers it's a very easy start and then we should head into a tough Nov/Dec on a good run of form. Looked at it a second time and thought we have a start with a lot of tricky (if not tough) fixtures before we face the real tests.

Then realised at the end of the day you play every time twice and if you're the type of team capable of beating anyone anywhere and amassing 80-90 points the fixture list really isn't that important.
