The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Qualitys costs big nowadays and watching wenger quibble publicly over the price of the elite is a bit like watching your nan groan over the price of a sherbert dib dab. As much as giroud is berated by many were surely talking around the 50 mill mark to upgrade on him and even then how many additional goals that equates to over the course of a season remains to be seen.
And that unfortunately is exactly the way Wenger sees it...£50m for an extra few goals? No financial sense. But the point is that the extra few goals could turn losses into draws and draws into wins which ultimately can bring you a title. In his eyes though it ain't worth it :banghead:
Your bang on just wish he would see that. The fact that hes left the squad short fot each of the last 10 seasons gives me no faith that hes ready to change his behaviour. Best we could hope for I feel is mahrez who would add goals from another position and would allow us to add a good quality centre back. Would do little to address our laboured build up play though. Think for many people watching another season of giroud struggle on would be the last straw with regards to wenger.

Johnny evans is the northern Ireland version of john o'shea...................good enough to be a bit part player in a big club, but never good enough to stand up and be a first choice player at a big club. He (like o'shea) made his name coming in for cameo performances for manure and never played enough to be exposed for the average player he is

Don't Barca want rid of Tommy Vermaelen? Could ceertainly not be worse than what we've got and was good in partnership with Kos.

Says a lot for wally's stock that the shammers, a team desperate for a striker, would rather pay £20m for ayew than to pay £30m for wally

I think that he will be purchased for cover for Arteta and Rosicky in the treatment room.

According to blokes on Twitter,Mustafai has pulled out of training with Valencia (who are in England ATM )with a foot injury :hmmthink:

PS according to the daily mail we have bid 15m for him and Valencia rejected it,there's a surprise.

Obviously the griezmann rumours belong in never never land, but he is a player worth bursting the bank for 8)
Maybe after buying gameiro and still being interested in costa, griezmann could be sold as a means to raising funds ? Of course if he ever did become available, we would be blown out of the water by the big clubs that are willing to pay proper money for quality players

I think I've just had a vision of the future.

AFC linked to cheap former player.

AFC deny interest.

said player 'is training' with us while he looks for a club.

said player 'looks good' in training.

said player offered 'short-term deal to cover for injury.

said player 'has done well', gets two year contract and is immediately injured.
