VAR

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just read that the Turkish Football Federation has agreed to use foreign VAR officials in certain games due to bias decision making.

Bias is of course one step away from corrupt.

And if its happening there, then you can put your money on it happening across all the major leagues

With all the money that is awash in football ( see the bbc report on money spent on agents as an obscene example https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68794902) there must be a very likely scenario that refs / assistant refs / VAR have been subject to bribery or blackmail.
Given the amount spent on gambling on football and the number of gambling organisations involved in sponsorship etc it’s madness.
Bringing in the automated offside decision might help, but in sports like boxing, horse racing, snooker, cricket, cycling - match fixing / drug taking / cheating on a large scale has eventually come to light.

It is present in football but not yet had its cover blown, other than FIFA etc being gifted money to decide where the World Cup goes .

I've always held to the belief that money ruins sport eventually. Since the Big money came into football I've enjoyed it less and less over the years. Money has killed loyalty, tradition, things like the concept of the one club man, led to the rise of the pimped nothing little clubs like the chav$ and cheateh, brought about the parasitic vermin that are agents, turned players into mostly unlikeable gangsta looking twats in gold chains and thousand dollar tracksuits.... the list goes on. :( :x
