For those of you not yet familiar with Ethan Nwaneri have a little peek

He really does look special, still only 16, in the squad for tomorrows Champions League game, if he gets any game time he will become our youngest ever CL player.

Just watched the Pre-PSV-Game presser with Arteta and he (Arteta) likened his skill/s to Jack Wilshere.Stuart L (2) wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 9:45 pmFor those of you not yet familiar with Ethan Nwaneri have a little peek

Re: Under 18’s
What's the point though, they never het a chance even when a game is won.
All other clubs blood them (victims, city, scum, united etc), give them easy minutes etc, our clown doesn't he brings on the key first teamers even when resting them when a game is won for the apparent superfan reason so they do t have to do a warm down...
These guys excuse every and any brain dead decision.
We might as well scrap the u18s he refuses to play them under any circumstances and just flogs the seniors until their fcked.

100% True. How are they supposed to develop and be able to handle the pressure if / when they do get a chance.
Have read and heard positive things about Azeez, Henry-Francis and Cozier-Duberry in the Academy, but other than Nwaneri and Rosiak there doesn't seem to be many coming through the ranks.

3-2 away win at Villa on Saturday
https://www.arsenal.com/news/u18s-highl ... -3-arsenal
3 penalties awarded to us, first one missed, second two scored by Rosiak ( third one wasn’t totally convincing )

Under 21’s but they include several under age players
Poor defending for both goals conceded but we have some very bright talent coming through Hale End

Keep an eye out for the name Max Dowman
Scored the opening goal yesterday in the 2-2 draw, really good goal but what is even more impressive is the fact that he is 14, playing regularly at under 18’s and more than holding his own

Just the 5 goals today for Chido Martin Obi in the 8 -1 win v West Ham
He made headlines for getting 10 in a game v the Scousers previously
Don’t think he is 17 yet, so not even on pro contract yet

Re: Under 18’s
Arsenal are set to tie youngster Chido Obi down to a long-term contract as Mikel Arteta looks to fast track his route to the first team.
The 16-year old scored 7 goals against Norwich u18s today.

It’s already agreed, just that he can’t sign it until he turns 17, which I think is September.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 8:07 pmArsenal are set to tie youngster Chido Obi down to a long-term contract as Mikel Arteta looks to fast track his route to the first team.

Video from yesterdays 9-0 win at Norwich
Norwich looked poor, but you can only beat what is in front of you.
Martin Obi needs to move up to under 21’s to challenge himself against better players as he won’t learn much banging in multiple goals every week.
