Champions League Draw

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It is Rodders, they're apparently getting rid of all the individual group stages and making it 1 big group stage ,and by doing this it is also quite possible that 5th place in the PL will also get you a spot in the new CL
Just had a read through it, 36 team league, each team plays 8 games, 4 home, 4 away - against 8 different teams I think? Top 8 automatically qualify for the knockout stages and the teams that finished 9th-24th go into a 2 legged play off to see if they progress, so basically everyone else bar the absolute dross.

Sounds great :suicide:
I think it is something like 180+ matches required just to get teams down to 24. :D

Basically TV fodder
Makes the matches up until March pretty much meaningless

Looks as though it could be a back door into the European super league that the big clubs were after. Maybe UEFA are thinking that they'll set it up, rather than have the big boys fuck off eventually and start their own organisation.

Not bad at all. It could have been a lot worse.

No long journeys to the arse end of Eastern Europe or Turkey so that's a positive!

Fucking Lens though. Forgotten about playing then at Wembley in 98/99. What a let down that was!

How easy is it do you think to contact Lens about away tickets?
