I think that would be helpful to

well, i think anyone that is selling at face value - which is the only type of sale we entertain on this forum - is unlikely to be a tout. the idea of this thread is to identify people asking for spares as real gooners rather than opportunist touts. there is a lot of suspicion when posters ask for a ticket having never posted before. now if a new poster was offering a spare at face value, there is not so much to think about.

GUYS,

AS I EXPLAINED TO GOONER.ED, I AM HOPING TO KEEP THIS THREAD STREAMLINED AND AS UP TO DATE AS POSSIBLE, SO THAT IT IS EASY FOR PEOPLE TO CROSS REFERENCE.

SO, JUST TO LET YOU KNOW: ANY POSTS PUT ON THIS THREAD RECOMMENDING BUYERS/SELLERS WILL BE DELETED SOON AFTER THE NAMES HAVE BEEN TRANSFERED TO THE LIST AT THE TOP OF THIS THREAD.

AND JUST TO BE CLEAR: THE ORDER OF PEOPLE'S NAMES ON THE LIST IS IN NO WAY AN INDICATION OF THEIR LEVEL OF TRUSTWORTHINESS. I'M JUST ADDING THE NAMES AS AND WHEN THEY ARE RECOMMENDED BY YOU GUYS. IT IS ULTIMATELY UP TO YOU TO DECIDE WITH WHOM TO DO BUSINESS. Laughing Wink

I have had to learn the hard way.

I sent a ticket to Gooner92 in good faith at the back end of last season - (Derby Away) and even made sure he got it on time by sending it by recorded delivery- as yet i still have not received the cash and now don't expect to.
The worse thing was he kept promising and promising until finally he asked me to 'report' him to the moderators on this site for non payment - as if this is going to get my money! Have not heard from him for over a month now.

Just leaves a real sour taste in the mouth, even worse that he is a supposed Gooner.

As I said, lesson learnt.

All I would say is keep an eye out on who you decide to pass tickets on to - maybe we should create a similar list for reputable buyers??

A tip ....get the payment transferred to your bank online first, you only need to supply the account no. & sort code.

Mdriscoll and Pixie,

Sorry to hear of your bad experiences with others on here. As we constantly say, you have to be very careful with whom you make ticket arrangements with because, unfortunately, there are some people who are just plain dishonest.

You should also try where possible to put together arrangements where if you're the one selling the ticket, you don't lose out; or if you the one buying, that everything is kosher with the ticket. As Pixie has unfortunately just found out, even initially being on the 'trusted buyers/sellers' list due to a recommendation, is no guarantee that you won't get shafted sometime in the future.

Anyway, I have removed CarltonRed from the list, and unless he comes up with a really good reason for letting Pixie down, will no longer be considered trustworthy. Gooner92 was never on the list but, a few dodgy comments on other posts apart, seemed okay. Just goes to show. Rolling Eyes

Hopefully these two unfortunate and unpleasant experiences will be the last suffered by forum regulars and that it's a lesson that all of us can learn from.

Please, please be extra careful people when making arrangements or exchanging tickets and money with people you don't know.

really, this is about verifying that someone who is a complete stranger to you before the exchange is reliable and no-nonsense as a buyer or seller of a spare. so if you knew the members beforehand, it doesn't really apply.

Someone who has had dealings with you re: buying/selling tickets would recommend you. It would also help if that person was a forum regular and not someone posting for the first time. Laughing Wink

sorry for posting on this but i would advise agains that...best way to transfer money online is paypal...instant transfer 100% safe and no one needs to know your bank account or sort code....just the email address that your paypal is set up as.

www.paypal.co.uk

oh and i will get myself on that lisy next season Smile

there's not a lot of scope for abuse with just a sort code and a bank account number. what can someone do with those? they'd need a lot more than that - date of birth for one - to start even getting close to playing shenanigans. additionally, paypal payments cost the receiver of the money a fee from the amount transferred. so if there is time, i would always opt for bank transfer for that very reason. so yes, paypal is safer - but at a cost. yet online banking is not unsafe.

Can I just remind everyone that you can't nominate yourself to be included on the list!! Rolling Eyes It's normally done by someone else - preferably a forum regular that has had a successful transaction with you. Cool Laughing Wink

Can you please add "kalisn" to the trusted buyers / sellers list.

Did a swap and trusted him to keep his end of the bargain, which he did.

Top guy

cheers

Somerset Gooner,

You do realise that your 'signature' is wrong, don't you? Shocked Confused

You only have 25 victories and 12 draws (total 37 games) and also the wrong final points total. It was actually 26 wins; 12 draws and a points total of 90 (not 93). Embarassed Embarassed Rub Chin Rub Chin Rub Chin

Not much scope I agree, but you can get up to mischief.

Ask Jeremy Clarkson! Shocked
