Re: THE FRANKSAV MUSIC THREAD

Lots to think about! Peter Gabriel first, saw him on his debut tour, at the Dome in Brighton (where Abba won Eurovision in 1974) following release of first album, always remember NME review saying unwise to put the best track last on an album, but Here Comes the Flood was immense. And Blood on the R...

ps: Link to F.U.B.B https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYHCgjwXbB4 Brilliant! :barscarf: Mate, so many great memories in your previous note. Genesis were my favourite band in the 70s, and one of the few who genuinely maintained their quality over the years, even after PG left. My fave album ever is st...

Re: THE FRANKSAV MUSIC THREAD

Been revisiting my albums from back in the day and one that certainly stands the test of time is Argus by Wishbone Ash. One of the first prog albums? A total classic especially for would-be rock star guitarists. Check out 'The King Will Come' which has one of the great intros and an absolutely kill...

Re: Everton H Sun 19th May KO 4pm

I see Jarrod Bowen equalising a Haaland goal in the 87th minute, to salvage a draw for the Hammers, And then the ghost of his dad, Jim Bowen, taunting Pep with 'This is what you would have won'..... And the long-departed Jimmy Greaves emerges from the mists of time gone by, 'It's a funny old game....'

Re: Manure A Sun May 12th KO 430pm

Massive match tomorrow, if Liverpool beat Villa (who then have to play in-form Palace in their last match), then Spurs can actually get 4th spot...so they will have to give it everything against Man City. Liverpool will be keen to finish season on a high for Klopp. (That's assuming no cock-ups today...

Re: THE FRANKSAV MUSIC THREAD

One TV recommendation is the four part Led Zeppelin doc on Sky Arts. Really good stuff on there, including some close-ups of great songs. I remain in awe of Jimmy Page and walk past his Kensington house on a regular basis still hoping one day he'll be standing outside!! And, who could believe John B...

Just discovered Gordon lightfoot..bit late...can't get enough currently. Up there with Tom petty now on my most played. Any similar recommendations? Try Sunhouse 'Crazy on the Weekend' , long-deleted only album by a band whose songwriter, Gavin Clark, died by suicide years ago, but everyone I have ...

New research shows porn gives young people an unrealistic and unhealthy idea of how quickly a plumber will come to your house.

Not sure that it accurately reflects the everyday duties within the Nursing profession either.

Re: Villa vaginas H Sun 14th April KO 430pm

Re keepers - he might be a bit of a knobhead at times, but Martinez is 6ft 4ins tall and Raya is 6ft zero. The taller you are, the more space you cover upwards and sideways. Why you rely on a short GK at the top level is beyond me. Raya's wonderful 'distribution' hardly compensates and he worries me...

Re: THE Arsenal v Bayern BumBoys 9th/10th April 2024

Went to the game so only just seen previous comments. Observations: 1. Bayern are no mugs and as soon as you saw the team sheet with some seriously good players, you knew they had to be more than decent 2. Atmosphere was a bit so-so, think down to nervousness as much as anything 3. Was right on top ...

Re: LeftfootlegendGooner's Friday joke thread

Girl goes into a record shop at Christmas. "Excuse me, do you have Jingle Bells on a 6-inch?" "No, but I have dangle balls on a 12-inch" "That's not a record!" "It's not far off!" (PS Not sure if I have posted that one before but it's just as good second time ...

Why, Thank-you kind sir.... :D Yes, she is 'Special' :-P Our flank wall urgently needs a bit of re-pointing, and she appears to be showing some expertise in that area. Might you possibly have her number, so I can arrange a quote? I assume you're asking for a friend? :D Yes, of course, a good friend...
