Well, we're still in the tie!
The half-arsed team selection was disappointing but expected. The Old Fraud was forced to play a slightly stronger side, due to the pubbers disgracing us on Sunday. Playing PartyBoi Iwobi was a fucking joke. Yet more evidence of the zero discipline or accountability at TOF's Colney Crèche.
Chelsea started strong, pressing us and forcing our players to turn back and pass backwards to our defence, who still insist in risky sideways passing whilst being pressured by nearby opposition players. Wilshere's through ball over the top of the Chelsea defence was wasted spectacularly by Lacazette.
We started to come into the game and make it quite even. Surprisingly, neither side really put the goalkeepers under much pressure. Conte's Chelsea have a poor record against us.
Chelsea started the second half with some intent, with Christiansen heading over the bar from close range. They were looking much more dangerous. Wheelchair hurt his ankle again, so that's another year out; Elneny had to come on before the magical 70th minute.
We also brought Sanchez on before 70 minutes, thankfully making him cup-tied for the final, should we somehow get there. I'm surprised we were cute enough to do that. Chambers hurt his knee whilst stretching for the ball, but was able to continue.
It seemed inevitable that we would hold on to a draw. It didn't feel like a typical game against the blue scum without the Cúntalan Rat trying to get our players booked. Although he did try to win a penalty late in the game. Thankfully, VAR did it's job.
It's a shame that we couldn't get an away goal, should we somehow force extra time in the second leg, which is in two weeks time, with two flat track bully dead rubbers in between Will TOF play the same team in the return leg, or a weaker one?

What an awful game of football.
Amazing that some people still peddle this myth that we play great football. Not only is it bollocks, but our games are often dire to watch. Even in the last month, Southampton (a), West Ham (a), Newcastle (h), West Ham LC (h), WBA (a) and Chelsea LC (a) have all been fucking terrible to watch.

Sell Wilshire or don't renew his contract as he's just proved that he's injury bound.

Thought Holding had a good game tonight actually, having defended like a pub league player in his last two games. I thought that the 3 CBs looked really assured in possession - shame the front 3 didn't have a clue what to do with the fucking ball.
