Goldi Poldi Song

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Nah not "we love you Poldi...." sounds a bit stupid

Just "Lukas Podolski da da da da da da
Lukas Podolski da da da da da da
Lukas Podolski you're Arsenal through and through" or whatever.

Anyway, why not just copy the German fans' chant for now.

Arteta needs a song too. The Ox too. In fact who doesn't?

Imo yozu can't just translate the song. Tried it but it doesn't work if you just translate it.. write a new one :wink:

Just one example:
"du regierst den Ball und hältst ihn flach. " would become "you rule the ball and don't exaggerate"

:lol: :lol: :lol:

That would be a fucking brilliant line to try and sing though! Rinse any sentence through Google translate and back again and the results are what I like to call "Japanese Spacker Advertising English".

We could follow it up with "You are the unsurpassed participant and a frontrunner!"

:-P :wink:

I obviously didn't mean translate the German lyrics directly into a song. I meant just copy the chanting of his name part. Bloody hell. :banghead:

To the Freddie tune;

Lukas Podolski He Comes from Germany
Lukas Podolski he's only 5ft 3
Lukas Podolski, he's getting an Arsenal tattoo.

Granted line 2 is probably factually incorrect but he's a short arse so it's fine!
Granted line 3 is probably rubbish too, but hey it's topical!
And for anyone who says line 3 has too many words or doesn't fit, go away and work on your lyrical timing!!

And while I'm on a role ....

Arteta, has anyone heard on YouTube the Everton song for him? To the 'Follow, Follow, Follow' tune.

Replacing Everton with Arsenal it would read;

Follow Follow Follow, Ars-en-al are the team to follow
And there's nobody better than Mikel Arteta
He's the best little Spaniard I know.

We'll have to change the last line as we've got that Cazorla bloke in the middle now who's quite handy .......

We really are being left behind for songs! We only really react to other teams songs. Is there any way we can get songs for all our players and team, history, etc. Something to convey our passion.

We're by far the greatest team....since 1996...and it's Arsene F.C.
Arsene F.C.
We're by far the greatest team,
formed in the mid-90's.
