I think we are playing pretty well. Lacking cutting edge because the shape just doesn’t work and Aubameyang is a passenger, but Saka Pepe and Tierney are very busy out wide.DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 7:00 pmWe are playing OK. Goal was good. Palace should have had 3 red cards. If it was us we'd have had 3 reds. Shameful refereeing.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 6:59 pmMissed the first half fellow Gooners how we playing???

Hopefully we snap a few ankles in the first 5 minutes of our next game. Apparently it's a new rule as now it's so early in the game, we'd get away with it

Amazing how many excuses can be made when incidents happen against us. Very much like the whole "Too close and unavoidable" two hand balls in two seconds against Burnley.DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 6:58 pmEarly in the game.
Negligible force.
That's why there have been no reds apparently.

I've said it before I'll say it again not only has VAR ruined the game it has made referees and linos worse.northbank123 wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 7:01 pmOfficial statement is “negligible force” so no red for Benteke.
Putting aside how ridiculous that is and how many times it will be ridiculed next season when reds are given for infinitely less force, it is seriously worrying that PGMOL are silent other than when their refs make a piss poor decision and then they rush to brief sky sports or BT on why it was apparently right.
When VAR didn’t give our stonewall handball pen at Burnley, sky were reading out a statement from PGMOL within 3 minutes explaining why it was - contrary to the laws of football and all common sense - not a penalty.
Does anybody expect refereeing standards to improve when this is their approach?

Someone should.GoonerMuzz wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 7:01 pmI'm fairly sure the match where Auba got his red card was on BT sport and when Walton was asked his opinion at the time he said it was a definite red card because of dangerous play, i'd love to show that clip to him and ask him what the difference was

Anyone else feel like they're watching an old Wimbledon game at Selhurst Park with the virtually empty stands and a few half-hearted shouts every now and again.

Amazing how much less constipated we look in midfield without the human buttplug Clive out there ruining every attack.

I think that’s right DB10. Referees are just giving yellows for all serious offences because they know VAR will bail them out if it’s a complete shocker.

It was also against Palace that we had our darkest hour with VAR when it blatantly cheated us out of a winner with a made up foul by Chambers.
Biggest piece of cheating I’ve ever seen on a football filed by an official (bar Mike Riley at OT obviously).

And somewhere in rural Greece an anonymous team of amatuers and former Belgian and Swiss second division never-has-beens prepare themselves for our visit in mid-December.

The ONLY saving grace of being in Europe next season is if it is at the expense of Spuds....
