A source deep inside the club has told the Gooner that Fahmy is set to exit the Emirates as Arsenal continue to streamline their recruitment team following head of football Sanllehi's departure.

The Gooner Fanzine was also informed of the news of Sanllehi's exit by our source as early as Thursday.

Fahmy joined the club in June 2017 as an understudy to then transfer negotiator to Dick Law, earning a promotion when Arsene Wenger's trusted right-hand man left that September.

The former lawyer has been a key part of a number of negotiations and decisions since then, including Mesut Ozil's £350,000-a-week contract, the appointment of Unai Emery and the club-record signing of Nicolas Pepe.

The news of Fahmy's possible exit and Sanllehi's departure comes after Arsenal launched an internal investigation into Pepe's signing as part of efforts to streamline and improve club operations.

It looks like the club are trying to get their head round what appears to be some very odd goings on. There is an ongoing investigation around the Pepe transfer. From what I read we got well and truly mugged over the fee. Are the guys getting the sack responsible , who knows ? For a club with concerns over their wage bill we have been throwing shedloads of money. We are dropping another bucketload on a 32 year old and on a 3 year contract. My guess is that Stan has started to pay attention and whether this Tim Lewis is trying to clear things up not sure. Either way it seems good news to me.

As usual MarkyMark. Your contributions on this comment platform are insightful & analytical in identifying the key points for debate. The role of the Super Agent cannot be commented upon in depth as we only have historical examples without latter day knowledge of the behind the scenes facts. Super Agents generally have the reputation of not acting in the interests of grass root fans, historically involved with dubious third party investors. Their track record seem littered with controversy. The way that the financing of super agents has not been in the spotlight of regulators is a mystery to me. The billions that are away in the Premier League will under this pandemic reduce and this demise for me is not a catastrophe but a blessing in disguise. Fans will no longer be pouring money into a black hole and having to accept gaslighting in response. All of the new structures previously involved in high profile transfers will now be coming under greater scrutiny. The problem is that when you shine a light under a dirty piece of furniture, often nasty bugs are seen to be living there. Stan Kroenke cannot afford to be tainted with that kind of analysis. A plague on all their houses, let’s hope we get our club back in the future based upon probity, mass fan involvement and rejection of possible strange practices by advertising agencies and large investors like the Emirates.

RobG - I take a different view on this . I believe Raul was sacked due to his being in the pay or perhaps I should say sway of the super agent . This Kai ( you did better than me with the spelling ) was creating a separate power base and was going very vocal on his power and slating off Mstinlat in the press etcAll told I think it’s very good news he is going . What we can see is each time the Kroenke’s carry out an internal review somebody very big goes. I get the feeling this lawyer who came in was a bit like Claude off the Apprentice. I suspect he has an accuse “bullshit indicator” Vinay as a pure money man may be what we need. Apparently he is as straight as they come so rigid corporate governance could be coming back. I wonder if Edu is now a worried man as he is very much in the Raul pack

Well done Online Gooner, and Dan with your journo contacts. One of the benefits of having you with Layth will be to see the fanzine becoming a primary “Gooner go to website” instead of us having to do the ritual trawling of NewsNow. What is your take on Coutinho? Surely after Barca’s humiliation he must be gagging to join Arsenal with Mikel Arteta. As Wrighty tweeted, we must keep Mikel at all costs. Keep the “Exclusives” coming.

Well if I wasn't concerned before - I am sure am now. The Club looks to be as shambolic behind the scenes as our defence sometimes looks on the pitch. This Vini fellow is just a Gazedis type commercial, brand dealer. The idea that he heads the football side of matters - or has a decisive say in it - is risible. He has no background in football. We're losing our scouting network and appear entirely in the pocket of this super agent Jorbachain (or however it's spelt). The Kronkes appear as clueless as everyone else and the Board are as much use as a flock of headless chickens. It is very hard not to be deeply concerned. All this and Covid - too !!!

So in the official club statement the line (from Raul) was: "Huss Fahmy is a talented and highly-capable leader of our football operations" Why allow that to be published if you're about to sack the guy? Makes no sense.
