Ceballos set for Arsenal return

Arsenal are set to sign Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid for another season, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Spaniard impressed towards the back end of last season and Mikel Arteta was desperate to bring him back to the Emirates.

Ceballos was also keen to come back to England, turning down three offers from Italy and Spain after being convinced during a phone call with Arteta.

The 24-year-old is expected to complete the move in the coming days, but the loan will not include an option or an obligation to buy the midfielder next summer.

Wolves call off Maitland-Niles chase

Ainsley Maitland-Niles looks set to stay at Arsenal after Wolves ended their pursuit of the Englishman, according to Sky Sports.

The West Midlands side saw an initial £15 million offer rejected last week, but they have now called off their chase believing the Gunners want to keep the 23-year-old.

After a tough start to life under Arteta, Maitland-Niles has played his way back into the Arsenal team and even earned a call up to Gareth Southgate's latest England squad.

The Gunners are also reportedly keen to offer the versatile midfielder a new contract to tie him down at the Emirates.

Holding set for Newcastle loan

Rob Holding is set to join Newcastle United on a season-long loan deal, claim talkSPORT.

Arsenal are keen for the 24-year-old to get much-needed first-team minutes after playing just 18 times last season, while the Gunners want to get a number of central defenders off their books this summer.

Holding his expected to complete his move to the northeast in the coming days, but the loan will not include an option to buy next summer.

Gunners given Aouar boost

Arsenal have been given a boost in their pursuit of Lyon's Houssem Aouar, with Fabrizio Romano claiming he would prefer a move to the Premier League.

The Gunners and Juventus are both reportedly keen on the exciting 22-year-old, but both are struggling to meet his more then £50 million price tag.

Aouar's preference for a move to England puts Arteta's side in pole position though, with The Athletic's Sam Lee reporting that Manchester City are not interested in his signature despite contrasting reports.

Arsenal have already seen an offer of £44 million-plus Matteo Gunedouzi turned down by Lyon for the midfielder.

Ozil receives mega-money Saudi offer

Arsenal's exiled top earner Mesut Ozil has been offered a £15 million-per-year contract by Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassar, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.

The Gunners are keen to get the German's £350,000-a-week a contract off the wage bill at the Emirates after he was dropped at the end of last season, but Ozil has expressed a desire to stay until next summer when his contract ends.

The playmaker now has a mega-money offer on the table as well as interest from Qatar, which could lead to him considering his future.
