Don't throw away your printed Arsenal match programmes - they could be worth a fortune

Arsenal matchday programmes have emerged as some of the most sought-after by fans and collectors.

Even in an increasingly digital age, print retains a unique emotional and cultural value.

As this research shows, decades-old programmes still resonate deeply with football supporters.”

Among the highest-value Arsenal programmes were:

Arsenal vs Cardiff City (1927 FA Cup Final) – £995.00

Arsenal vs Newcastle United (1932 FA Cup Final) – £599.99

Wolves vs Arsenal (1926 FA Cup Round 3) – £516.72

That’s according to new research from Where The Trade Buys (WTTB.co.uk), one of the UK’s leading print providers of books and brochures, which analysed the 10 most expensive programmes ever sold on eBay for each club competing in the 2025-26 Premier League.

Emma Thomson from wttb.co.uk, said: “For both fans and collectors, there’s something timeless about a printed matchday programme [showing] just how much these physical programmes still mean, with people willing to invest significant amounts of money to own a piece of football history."

The figures place Arsenal just behind Wolves, ahead of clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City, showing just how prized their programmes are among fans and collectors, as well as highlighting the lasting power of print to preserve football’s most memorable moments.

Top 10 Premier League Clubs Ranked by Most Valuable Programmes

While Sunderland vs Wolves in the 1942 Football League War Cup Final fetched £1,154.40, and Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Sheffield United in a 1937 FA Cup Fourth Round Replay, sold for £999.

Beyond eBay, some football programmes have sold for even more at specialist auctions. The current record is £35,000, which was paid for a copy of the 1882 FA Cup Final between Blackburn Rovers and Old Etonians, showing how valuable printed matchday memorabilia can be, and why collectors and fans alike continue to purchase these pieces of football history.

Note:

Only single, physical programmes featuring a first-team fixture were included. Items such as signed editions, bundles, reprints, reserve-team fixtures, “Best Offer” sales, and non-matchday memorabilia were excluded.
