Prologue
Well, if you'd have listened to some people you'd you have thought last Sunday was a repeat of that 8-2 humiliation, judging by the hystericial overreation from some.
Lads, here's the thing: Arsenal won at Old Trafford. We beat Manchester United 1-0.
Riccardo Calafiori's 13th minute header - from the team's first corner of the 2025-26 season no less - ensured Mikel Arteta's hunt for a first title in 22 long years got off to the perfect start.
As anyone who knows football will understand, it's all about the result at Old Trafford.
No-one wants to be patted patronisingly on the head after a 'pretty' performance as The Red Devils hungrily snap up all three points. Those days are long gone under Arteta, with two wins and a draw in the last three years at United.
In the Gunners five title winning seasons since 1971, Arsenal have acheived three wins, and two draws at Old Trafford. It's a difficult task in a challenging citadel, no matter how bad United have become.
And, yes, while Ruben Amorim's side did put Arsenal under pressure, the reason many so lauded their performance was simply the fact they were so very poor last season, amid more than a decade of mediocre form in the Premier League.
Don't listen to the noise. This Arsenal side have got so much more in the locker, and will surely start to show it against newly-promoted Leeds United on Saturday.
For their part Leeds also sealed a 1-0 win in their first match, Lukas Nmecha netting with a late penalty following a disputed James Tarkowski handball.
It promises to be an enthralling match against a Leeds side once again back in the top-flight, after a two-year spell in the big club wilderness otherwise known Championship.

Arsenal Injuries: Jesus (knee)
Doubts: Kai Havertz, Christian Norgaard, Jurrien Timber, Ben White
Arsenal vs Leeds team news
Arsenal team news
Kai Havertz is set for a spell on the sidelines after it was revealed that the striker had picked up a knee injury, that could rule him out for the forseeable future.
Sporting director Andrea Berta moved fast to re-ignite the previously stalled bid for Crystal Palace's exciting Eberechie Eze - with the player set for an Arsenal medical on Friday.
New striker Viktor Gyokeres is set to lead the line against the Peacocks from West Yorkshire while making his home debut - but with Havertz missing, Arteta has to make a decision between selecting Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard for the left flank.
With both struggling for form despite the latter signing a new, improved deal this week, new summer arrival from Chelsea, Noni Madueke could make his full debut, after coming on as a late substitute in Manchester.
However, the Gunners are sweating on the fitness of Ben White and Jurrien Timber.
White missed the club's annual open training session at the Emirates on Wednesday morning, while Timber only appeared for a part of the pubic event.
If both are forced to miss the match, new summer signing from Valencia, versatile defender Cristhian Mosquera could be set to make his Arsenal debut at right-back.
Christian Norgaard missed the midweek jamboree at the Emirates after also being absent for the victory at Old Trafford last Sunday.
In terms of selection, Arteta has to once again choose between Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back, with the former shading it after an excellent performance which included the winner against United last week.
