Experienced goalkeeper Manu Zinsberger will remain with Arsenal Women, despite Daphne van Domselaar becoming the Gunners’ number one and the arrival of Anneke Borbe.
Arseblog News reported earlier this summer that a move for Zinsberger was a possibility in this transfer window, but the goalkeeper will stay to challenge van Domselaar and Borbe.
Dutch international van Domselaar became Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper in her debut season in North London, with Zinsberger deputising intermittently towards the end of the season.
24-year-old Borbe joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Wolfsburg, where she ended the season as the Bundesliga side’s number one ahead of Merle Frohms. Both shot-stoppers departed upon the expirations of their contracts.
Zinsberger has been widely praised for her impact in Arsenal’s goalkeeping group and wider squad, and the Austrian will battle with Borbe for the reserve spot behind van Domselaar.
As reported earlier this summer, academy graduate Naomi Williams will go on loan this season. The 20-year-old is yet to make a competitive appearance for the Gunners.
