Arsenal canvas supporters on safe standing but admit capacity may fall and tickets won't be cheaper

Arsenal are canvassing supporters opinions over the issue of safe standing.

The Gunners have been seeking fans views on the subject by sending out online questionnaires to season ticket holders, including Club Level.

Currently, five Premier League clubs are taking part in a safe standing trial which began on New Years Day and will run until the end of the season.

In the letter seen by the Gooner Fanzine the club say they are collaborating with a subsection of the Fans' Forum and representatives from a number of supporter groups to explore how safe standing could be introduced at Emirates Stadium in due course, if the current trial results in formal approval by the Government.

Arsenal said: "We are asking for our fans’ input into this important topic and invite [them] to complete a short survey, which also includes some key information which we hope you find useful."

However, the club also admit that if safe standing was introduced it would result in a net loss of seats and a reduction in the overal capacity of the Emirates, which is currently 60,260.

Arsenal also say that it is unlikely that safe standing areas would be priced any cheaper.

The survey runs until Friday, June 3.
