The imperious Vivianne Miedema grabbed a brace as Arsenal routed Spurs 4-0 in front of a record-breaking crowd at Ashburton Grove.

With 47,367 fans in attendance amid a staggering total of 53,737 tickets sold, Jonas Eidevall's table-topping Gunners were best from the first moment until the final whistle. 

The rout of their opponents from N17 started as early as the fifth minute, when Beth Mead, top scorer and player of the tournament at this summer's Euro 2022 tournament fired home. 

Mead, curled in an excellent goal with her right foot, after showing the value of being a two-footed player by having a left-footed effort blocked moments earlier.

The world class Miedema doubled Arsenal's advantage moments before the break, prior to outstanding Brazil centre-back Rafaelle heading home emphatically for the home side's third after half time.

There was still time for Miedema to grab her second to make it two 4-0 league victories on the bounce. 

On a heartening afternoon for the women's game, the previous  Women's Super League attendance record of 38,262 - set in 2019 when Arsenal beat Spurs 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - was smashed in N5. 

Saturday's clash also broke records on the pitch, with victory marking Arsenal's 10th successive win in the WSL.

While, Eidevall's side became the first time in WSL history to keep eight consecutive clean sheets - and have now notched 39 goals during those 10 wins.

No wonder Arsenal top the table - with the exciting promise of more to come.
