Dial Square: By The Fans For The Fans

It’s an old adage, but football has no soul without a loyal fan-base - something that underpins Dial Square’s DNA

Dial Square: By The Fans For The Fans

If The Arsenal are away on a Saturday, get yourself down to Alywns Lane, Chertsey, to support The Dial

Despite only being founded in January 2020, Dial Square Reborn are leading the charge through the football hierarchy after two back-to-back promotions, with a third looking increasingly likely.

For onlookers, Dial epitomise a progressive and well-run football club, which will come as welcome news to Arsenal loyalists who know the backstory to The Gunners’ early success.

So, what do we know about the north west Surrey non-league club which was reincarnated by a group of avid Arsenal fans?

Well, Dial Square currently ply their trade in the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western) Premier Division.

They play their home games at Isthmian League side Chertsey Town, which, as the crow flies, is approximately 30 miles from The Emirates Stadium.

On 19 October 2023, Dial reported that fans from across the globe had purchased an incredible 190,000 new shares to support its ongoing development and follow in the footsteps of AFC Wimbledon, Newport County and Exeter City to become a truly fan-owned club.

And while Dial have yet to earn the title of ‘The Invincibles’, which Arsenal gained 20 years ago, they remain on course (at the time of The Gooner going to print) to win the treble, comprising the league, league cup and county cup competitions.

Furthermore, the non-leaguers have already amassed circa 80 goals in 17 league and cup matches, which is likely to pique the interest of Arsenal fans.

Dial have also scored eight or more goals in almost 25% of their competitive fixtures played to date, with a resounding 11-0 league win against Hambledon topping the scales.

For Gunners fans that are looking to support their former namesake on their mission to climb the football pyramid, it’s been mooted that the England Football Accredited club will be extending the opportunity for more fans to become a fan-owner this summer, so watch this space.
