Only the beginning: Talented young Arsenal keeper Jack Porter signs first pro deal
Jack Porter signs first professional contract with Arsenal
Talented Arsenal academy keeper Jack Porter has signed his first professional deal with the North London giants.
Porter, 17, who memorably made his first team debut in front of 59,000 fans at the Emirates, during Mikel Arteta's side's 5-1 demolition of Bolton Wanderers in the third round of the Carabao Cup last September, joined the club as a 12-year-old.
Porter said: "Very happy to sign my first professional contract Arsenal, thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey," adding: "Only the beginning."
Recalling the night he made his bow for the Arsenal first team, Porter explained: "It was special because hearing fans wanting to help you and singing your name, it's a surreal feeling. It's probably one of the best feelings you can ever get. It allows you to be yourself and play freely, knowing that everyone wants you to succeed and wants you to be a history maker.
“It was very surreal because watching all of them on TV, the likes of Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, for years and years, and then you're sharing the same pitch with them. It's just very special.”
