Premier League leaders Arsenal make shock £20m bid for Brazil ace after injuries to key players

Arsenal have made a £20m bid for a Brazil international.

The Gunners want Palmeiras' 21-year-old Danilo, after being forced into searching for reinforcements due to injuries.

While the Premier League leaders have made a stellar start to the season with four wins out of four, injuries to key midfielders have forced Mikel Arteta's hand.

With the transfer window set to slam shut in 24 hours, the North Londoners have made their shock bid for the acclaimed defensive midfielder.

However, reports coming out of Brazil claim that the Sao Paulo outfit are demanding for a higher fee.

Arsenal host struggling Aston Villa at the Emirates tonight, Wednesday (August 31) and will be missing Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny - with the Gunners short on experience in defensive midfielders.

In other news, Arsenal could be willing to make a late bid for PSV winger Cody Gakpo after suitors Southampton had a bid turned down earlier this week.
