We already feel like we know Thomas very well based on the work we have done analysing his performances closely in recent times. With his all-round game and positive aggressive style, he will be a brilliant addition to our squad. We’ve made a strong start to the season and we want to continue to build on this with Thomas now part of our club.”

  13. Dan Mountney: 19:10 #496

We could see Roma move for Sokratis in the closing hours of this transfer window. News breaking now that the Italian club have failed in a move for Chris Smalling. That could open the door for a move for the Greek international.

  25. Dan Mountney: 16:32 #484

An update on Sead Kolasinac, and it could be the final one today. We understand the Bosnian is staying at Arsenal and won't be joining Bayer Leverkusen after the Bundesliga club failed to move on left-back Wendell.

  26. Dan Mountney: 15:28 #483

Small update on Sokratis. Roma are considering a late move for the Greek defender according to reports in Italy. We'll wait and see if that develops later in the day.

  27. Dan Mountney: 15:19 #482

Update on William Saliba. Fulham looked to be leading the race to sign him on loan, but his former club St Etienne are now interested in bringing him back to France. Considering what happened at the end of his original loan spell, Arsenal may not want to send him back to Les Verts.

  28. Dan Mountney: 15:10 #481

Sead Kolasinac could still join Bayer Leverkusen and we are trying to find out more about that deal as you read this. William Saliba could also join Fulham on loan but more as we get it on that one.

  31. Dan Mountney: 14:06 #478

Just under nine hours until the deadline, so here's everything we know on Thomas Partey right now. As per Charles Watts, Arsenal have indicated to La Liga - who hold the player's registration - that they will pay the full £45 million release clause for the Atletico Madrid midfielder and a legal team is at London Colney working to get the deal done. The release clause being paid will speed up the move as it means negotiations with Atleti won't be needed. A medical will likely take place in Spain and personal terms shouldn't be an issue as Partey is keen to join the Gunners. Arsenal's only issue? Time. The clock is ticking.

  32. Dan Mountney: 13:48 #477

Another update on Thomas Partey. Charles Watts, who initially broke the story, has tweeted Arsenal have indicated they will pay Partey's release clause. A Legal team is at London Colney now working on the transfer. Negotiations not needed with Atletico.

Plenty of talk on Twitter that the Thomas Partey move might be back on. We understand that nothing has changed and the deal is still unlikely, but we'll bring you any updates as soon as we get them.

  40. Dan Mountney: 11:27 #469

  44. Dan Mountney: 10:16 #465

Arsenal have just seen another reported target slip through the net. Porto's Danilo Pereira, who was seen as an alternative to Thomas Partey earlier in the window, has joined PSG on loan until the end of the season.

  45. Dan Mountney: 10:13 #464

On Matteo Guendouzi, his loan move to Hertha Berlin is expected to be completed before the deadline. Arsenal will not receive a loan fee for the Frenchman and the deal does NOT include an option to buy next summer. It is understood Guendouzi rejected interest from the German club a few weeks back, but with the options at Arsenal and elsewhere running out, he's decided to make the move.

  46. Dan Mountney: 10:09 #463

We want to know your favourite Arsenal deadline day move. Arshavin's on-off-on move in 2009? Ozil's shock arrival in 2013? Arteta signing in 2011? Let us know in the comments below and tell us your thoughts on today too!

  47. Dan Mountney: 10:06 #462

An update on Lucas Torreira and his move to Atletico Madrid. The Arsenal midfielder had his medical over the weekend and his loan deal, which contains an option to make the move permanent for £22 million next summer, is set to be completed when Atleti finalise the departures of Nikola Kalinic and Hector Herrera. More as we get it.

  48. Dan Mountney: 10:04 #461

We have a bit more information regarding Thomas Lemar. We understand he is a player Atletico Madrid are keen to move on, but our sources in Spain have informed us they have heard nothing about interest from Arsenal at the moment. As always, this could change and we'll keep you updated.

  49. Dan Mountney: 9:41 #460

There is one confirmed and very sad outgoing at Arsenal today. Gunnersaurus. According to The Athletic, Jerry Quy, who has played the mascot since its inception in 1993, has been let go as part of the club's ongoing streamlining measures. Long live Gunnersaurus!

  50. Dan Mountney: 9:36 #459

Well I said you never know what might happen on deadline day, and it appears we've been transported back to 2017! The Telegraph are reporting that Arsenal have registered an interest in taking Thomas Lemar on loan from Atletico Madrid. The Frenchman nearly joined the Gunners in a £92 million move three years ago, also on deadline day, but that fell through. He looked set to join RB Leipzig last week, but his wage demands saw that move called off. We will bring you more as we get it.

  51. Dan Mountney: 9:32 #458

In case you missed it last night, Arsenal's pursuit of a midfielder has NOT taken them in the direction of Valencia's Geoffrey Kondogbia. The midfielder is up for sale and four Premier League clubs are interested, but we understand the Gunners are not one of them.

  52. Dan Mountney: 9:19 #457

We have an update on Sead Kolasinac. Bayer Leverkusen are interested in the Arsenal man, but the German club need to get left-back Wendell off their books before they can sign the Bosnian. Hertha Berlin are interested in him and his agent is on his way to Germany right now to try and push that move through. If Wendell doesn't leave Bayer, Kolasinac will likely stay at Arsenal.

  53. Dan Mountney: 9:10 #456

As for the outgoings, there could be quite a few. Matteo Guendouzi is finally set to end his Arsenal exile by joining Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin on loan, but that will not include an option to buy. Lucas Torreira is also set for a loan exit and he is on the brink of joining Atletico Madrid. Sead Kolasinac, Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi could also leave the Emirates today.

  54. Dan Mountney: 9:08 #455

Let's start with possible incomings, or the lack of. Arsenal have been chasing Lyon's Houssem Aouar and Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey all window, but both moves look to have fallen through. There was interest in Chelsea's Jorginho, but again, that is not going to happen now. The Gunners are desperate to get a midfielder in, but with their targets now gone and time running out, new signings look unlikely. Saying that, it's transfer deadline day and things can change very quickly.

  55. Dan Mountney: 9:02 #454

Just read a nauseating and sycophantic piece in the mein kampf inspired Daily Express saying that the be-toupee'ed terror funded TP's transfer. Wow. Where would we be without the benevolence of our blood sucking owner? It's the fans in the stadia and TV viewers that fund players' transfers and wages you idiots. The idea that Stan and Josh are in it for altruistic reasons is about as far-fetched as suggesting Ozil is being fairly paid (again by revenue generated by fans).

A bit of a mixed day. Arteta was able to fight for his right to Party but didn't manage to offload all of his beastly boys.... I'll get my coat. We may finally have found a replacement for PV4.
