Norway maintained their perfect start at Euro 2025 with a 2-1 win over Finland, becoming the first side to qualify for the knockout stages despite a disjointed performance.
Frida Maanum was once again deployed out of position, starting up front rather than in midfield, but was replaced at halftime by Signe Gaupset.
Caroline Graham Hansen was central to Norway’s attacking threat, forcing an early own goal from Eva Nyström with a driven cross. Finland responded with intensity, dominating large stretches and equalising through Oona Sevenius after capitalising on Norwegian complacency in midfield.
Finland looked the more likely to find a winner, but it was Graham Hansen who made the difference again, her late cross looping over Anna Koivunen to seal all three points. Norway now sit top of the group with two wins from two.
Hosts Switzerland kept their quarter-final hopes alive with a 2-0 win over Iceland thanks to goals from Geraldine Reuteler and Alayah Pilgrim.
Captain Lia Walti played the entire game in midfield, as Switzerland moved up to second above Finland on goal difference.
The two sides will meet on Thursday with a quarter-final spot up for grabs.
