Arsenal's Brazil attacker Gabriel Martinelli produced a piece of south American magic to level for the Gunners deep into injury time to salvage a point for Mikel Arteta's side on Sunday afternoon.

The 24-year-old Brazillian netted in the 93rd minute to deny Pep Guardiola's side victory after Erling Haaland had put the visitors ahead in the ninth minute, to cap a good week, after scoring the opener against Athletic Club during the 2-0 win in Bilbao to kick-off the club's Champions League campaign this term.

The match was punctuated by constant time wasting by City's new goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, continuing hsi theme of being a scourge to the North Londoners, following on from his display's for PSG to thwart Arsenal during last season's Champions League semi-finals.

The point sees Arteta's side move to joint second in the Premier League table, albeit already five points behind Arne Slot's reigning champions Liverpool, who have won all their five games so far.

Arsenal face another tough clash next week, with a long trip to St James's Park to take on Newcastle in the north east, after first travelling to the Potteries to take on Port Vale in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday.
