Preview
There will be a familiar face in the opposing dugout this Saturday as former Spurs boss, Ange Postecoglou returns to North London with Nottingham Forest in his first game as their new gaffer.
Mikel Arteta never lost the North London Derby to Postecoglou with three wins and a draw in four games against the Aussie. Let’s hope that continues.
Arsenal will be looking to get back to winning ways following the narrow loss against Liverpool at Anfield before the international break with the Gunners having been given an injury boost as Arteta revealed in his press conference that William Saliba is back in training and is in contention to play against Forest.
While no one would be devastated if Mosquera continues to deputise, Saliba’s fast recovery is a big plus for the Gunners.
It has also been revealed that Ben White is available, as is new signing Piero Hincapie despite the thousands of air miles he clocked up whilst on international duty with Ecuador.
Unfortunately, Bukayo Saka is not quite ready yet although Arteta refused to rule him out for Bilbao and the visit of Manchester City next weekend so that is at least an encouraging sign.
It does not look as though any further injuries were picked up over the international break so let’s hope this good bill of health continues.
In terms of team selection, we may well see a first start for Eberechi Eze on his home debut.
Most supporters would assume he will play on the left on paper at least but we all know about his tendencies to drift into more central areas to provide us with more variation and unpredictability in attacks so look out for that.
It’s almost certain Viktor Gyokeres will start with Kai Havertz still on the sidelines.
Perhaps some Gooners may be wondering if we will instead see a start for Mikel Merino in place of the Swede given his impressive four goal haul in two games for Spain, but it could send an unnecessary message to our new big money striker if Arteta were to start a midfielder in his position.
We shouldn’t rule out a start for the Spaniard in midfield perhaps in place of Martin Zubimendi with two very tough fixtures immediately after this game - possibly a factor that may cross Arteta’s mind when picking the team.
This is of course the beginning of the three games a week period, with Arteta needing to utilise the whole squad, which is now looking more complete than it has ever been.

Regarding the visitors, Ola Aina will miss out 'for an extended period' after picking up a hamstring injury with Nigeria on international duty earlier this week, while Gunners loanee Alex Zinchenko will of course be unavailable to face his parent club.
Oddly, the Ukrainian hasn’t been selected in Forest’s Europa League squad.
The visitors have faced off pitch turmoil in recent weeks, and they also lost 3-0 at home to much maligned West Ham in their last game - with Gooners everywhere hoping this period of difficulty continues for them on Saturday.
