After 7 years in North London, Arsenal have confirmed that Lia Wälti will now leave the club.
The 32-year-old midfielder made 183 appearances in red and white and has become a real fan-favourite during her time as a Gunner.
In an emotional farewell video, Wälti spoke to the fans.
“I’m really thankful for all the memories,” she said. “I think I made relationships for life… Arsenal always allowed me to be the person I am. I’m really sad to leave.”
She finished the video, with a sincere thank you to the club and the fans:
“Thank you to the fans, you made us feel unstoppable and thanks to everybody who supported me on that journey and thanks for everything, Arsenal.”
It has been reported that Wälti will be joining Italian side, Juventus, but Arsenal are yet to confirm this move.
