Arsenal 3-0 Forest: Zubimendi's brace and Gyokeres goal seals Gunners victory
Gunners sweep past Big Ange on his return to the Premier League as Arsenal beat Forest 3-0 at the Emirates
Two goals from Arsenal summer signing Martin Zubimendi sealed a comfortable victory over an underwhelming Nottingham Forest side at the Emirates on Saturday lunchtime.
The former Real Socieded midfield schemer ruined Ange Postecoglu's return to the Premier League with Forest with a superbly struck first half volley, prior to a late header from substitute Leo Trossard's cross.
Sandwiched in between Zubimendi's two efforts, Arsenal's bustling striker Viktor Gyokeres bagged his third Gunners goal in four games shortly after the inteval, as gleeful Gooners sang to Postecoglu" You're getting sacked int he morning," in refence to the Australian being removed at Spurs at the end of last season.
Noni Madueke and Ebrechie Eze on his first full game for Arsenal impressed down both flanks, while Gyokeres also thudded the post late on as Mikel Arteta's side won comfortably.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was fulsome in his praise for the new boys, in particular Madueke, saying the £48m signing from Chelsea brings: “A lot of courage. A lot of quality but a lot of courage," before adding: “He has such a powerful [presence] very skilful, very unpredictable…he is willing to learn. He brings joy.”
