Arsenal boss Arteta gives injury update on Timber and Saliba ahead of Kairat clash
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that Jurrien Timber and William Saliba would miss Wednesday's game with injury, while Mikel Merino is suspended.
Arteta said: "William Saliba and Jurrien Timber are both out [vs Kairat].
"They have niggles and we want both in the best possible position for [Leeds] at the weekend."
Speaking at the club's training ground on Tuesday, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta insisted the reaction after his side's defeat by Manchester United at the weekend has been good.
He said of his players attitude in the aftermath of the 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Red Devils on Sunday: "It has been excellent. We took a moment to bring the temperature down to pause and reflect.
"We have earned the right to be in a great position in four competitions. We will play with enjoyment and a lot of courage over the next four games.
"That is the mindset."
The Arsenal boss also shared his take on upcoming fixtures, saying: "Beautiful what is ahead."
Looking towards a busy fixture list ahead that coudl define the Gunners season, Arteta said: "It is important to understand the reality against the perspective. You have to see everything with clarity and it is an energy that is important to use in the right way.
"It is still very early, we have so many games.
"We have to put the energy into the things that are going to make us better."
When quizzed on the lack of goals from his forwards, Arteta said: "I saw incredible things about the same individuals when we won in Milan. Same players and team.
"We are not far away. It also helps other people contribute."
When it was pointed out Bukayo Saka has failed to score in 13 games, Arteta said: "Look what he has done over the past 200 games. It is simple."
