Mikel Arteta has no plans to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

Reports in Spain have suggested the Gunners boss intends to step down in the summer, with a number of outlets linking him to the Barcelona job.

Spanish publication Diario AS reported the Basque had informed his entourage he was open to exiting the Emirates following the conclusion of the current campaign, amid ongoing reports linking the Gunners boss to the post at Barcelona.

On Saturday, Xavi announced he would be stepping down as Barcelona head coach at the end of 2023-24 - prompting fierce speculation in Spajn over Arteta's future. 

However, that is simply not the case, with Arteta, who was appointed as Arsenal head coach in December 2019, determined to see through his job in North London.

Spainard guided the Gunners to FA Cup success in August 2020 following Covid pandemic and returned club to Champions League this season after six-year absence, with his hungry young team aiming to land silverware with Arsenal.
