Arsenal boss previews Champions League clash vs Bayern Munich
Gunners face Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League at the Emirates: Read what Mikel Arteta said about crunch clash
Fresh from the Gunners magnificent North London derby thrashing of Spurs at the weekend, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants his side to maintain their intensity in the middle of a big week.
The Emirates plays host to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in their mouth-watering top of the Champions League table clash at the Emirates on Wednesday evening.
Arsenal moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League following their comprehensive victory over Thomas Frank's woeful side on Sunday, and will be aiming to move clear at the summit of the Champions League table.
Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta said: "We have to carry on that energy and play with the same dominance and aggression and efficiency [vs Bayern as his team did vs Spurs]."
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard trained with the squad on Tuesday afternoon at the club's HQ, London Colney.
As did Gabi Martinelli, Noni Madueke, and Jesus, even if influential defender Gabriel will be missing for 'weeks' yet.
Viktor Gyokeres was not with the squad at Colney either, as the striker is undertaking his own tailored training programme.
Arteta spoke on fitness of Noni Madueke, Gabi Martinelli and Odegaard [who all trained earlier] saying: "We're going to have a meeting now to decide on Martin.
"We are confident he can be in the squad."
Arteta added regarding Gabriel Jesus [who also trained earlier]: "He's quite close to be fair and it's earlier than expected. In the next few days he'll have another chance with a game that we're going to organise for him."
