Arsenal injury news and return dates for Martinelli, Saka, Gabriel before crunch clash at Man City

Here's the latest Arsenal injury news ahead of the crucial clash at the Etihad against Manchester City on Sunday. 

Bukayo Saka

In what started as a good week when Arsenal's Hale Enf graduate showcased his own Nandos Peri-Peri sauce, only 24 hours later, Saka withdrew from the England squad, missing Saturday night's 1-0 loss to Brazil as well as Tuesday's forthcoming clash against Belgium.

The talented 22-year-old who has already hit 11 goals in only 32 internationals for the Three Lions missed England's full training session last Wednesday, prior to focusing on his own fitness programme before a statement revealed his departure from camp.

Injury: Muscular

Assesment:

Merely a precautionary measure due to a minor muscular injury. Saka should be fit for Sunday's crunch clash 

Return date: Manchester City (A) - Sunday, March 31

Gabriel Magalhaes

Called up by Brazil for the prestige friendly at Wembley over the weekend but was withdrawn before appearing for Dorival Junior. Currently nursing an achilles issue that has been an issue over the last few weeks.

Assesment: 

Merely a precautionary measure. Should be fit for Sunday's big match

Injury: Achilles.

Return date: Manchester City (A) - Sunday, March 31

Gabi Martinelli

Gooner editor Layth called it at Bramall Lane when he saw the stricken Brazilian unable to apply pressure to his right foot while leaving the pitch during the 6-0 victory on Monday, March 4.

The influential attacker hasn't been seen in action since, although it was reported he was spotted shuffling through the Emirates mixed zone on crutches after the Brentford game on Saturday, March 9 prior to missing the Champions League victory over Porto in North London on Tuesday, March 12.

Injury: Foot.

Return date: Gabi is set to miss out against City at the Etihad with no return date confirmed yet

Kyle Walker

Walker was forced to leave the Wembley pitch after apparently injuring his hamstring attempting to clear Vinicius' effort off the line.

Subsequently withdrew from the England squad and will miss Tuesday evening's friendly vs Belgium at the national stadium - giving club boss Pep Guardiola a headache ahead of team selection for Sunday's heavyweight clash. 

The full-back faces a race to be fit for this weekend's Premier League title showdown with Arsenal.
