After Jen Beattie called time on her Arsenal career after eight years as a Gunner, Arsenal supporters, players and staff have all payed tribute to the popular centre-back.

Beattie joined NWSL expansion club Bay FC on a permanent transfer.

In an open letter to Arsenal's supporters, Beattie wrote: "I don't think there was ever going to be a right time to leave Arsenal because it was never going to be an easy decision. I’ve had so many conflicting emotions. When I think of Arsenal, I think of home, and I think of family, and that’s because of all of you."

Arsenal Sporting Director Edu Gaspar said: “Jen has had a beautiful career with Arsenal and we want to say a big thank you for her many years with us. She has helped to bring titles to our club and as a person, she is a great example of strength. We wish her success and happiness in the USA and she is welcome here in her home at any time.”

Beattie's Arsenal teammates took to social media to pay tribute to the inspirational 32-year-old.

Leah Williamson wrote on Instagram: "My hero. My life is better with you and I can't wait to see you shine in Cali."

Laia Codina (Instagram): "A big THANK YOU for these months. It was a pleasure."

Alessia Russo (Instagram): "One of the very best. Anywhere is lucky to have you. Go and smash it."

Steph Catley (Instagram): "So proud of you. You deserve all the good in the world. Love you, miss you already."

Beth Mead (Instagram): "One special human, we are going to miss you like crazy! Bay FC you've got a good one."

Vivianne Miedema (Instagram): "What a bloody Arsenal career you've had... we'll all miss ya, but go and enjoy life and footy !!"

Arsenal fans also shared their love for Beattie on X, as well as reflecting on their fondest memories of her time in red and white:

Arsenal Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley: “Jen leaves Arsenal with the respect and admiration of every one of us. She has been a wonderful player for us across two periods here and we’re excited to watch her in this new chapter. It’s a sad moment to say goodbye to such an important Arsenal figure, but Jen will always be part of this family and we look forward to seeing her soon.”
