Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres awaiting permission to fly to Singapore to finalise £63.5m deal with Arsenal
Arsenal finalise plans for new striker Viktor Gyokeres to travel to Singapore to seal long-awaited deal
Negotiations had been ongoing over add-ons as part of the contract, with Sporting holding out for an extra €10m (£8.7m). Further talks have been held over the conditions of those bonus payments - with the tortuous deal finally set to be completed shortly.
"I'm very pleased, that's all I'll say," said Arteta about Arsenal's transfer business.
"There are a lot of parties and things that we have to bear in mind to get a player over the line and here. I'm very hopeful that we are going to do it very soon."
Arsenal have already completed the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Noni Madueke - in a busy start to new sporting director Andrea Berta's frist transfer window in his position.
Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera is also expected to join the North London giants, with his £13m deal close to completion.
The Gunners are also expected to vye for the signature of Crystal Palace attacker Ebereche Eze before the start of the Premier League season on August 17, when Arsenal travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.
