Arsenal Women 2-1 Everton Women: Player Ratings

The Gunners continued to hunt WSL leaders Chelsea with victory over Everton at Meadow Park on Saturday afternoon

Jonas Eidevall's Gunners eased to second spot in the table after Beth Mead grabbed a winner in first half stoppage time.

The home side dominated their Merseyside vistors with Caitlin Foord grabbing the opener after nine minutes, slotting home Victoria Pelova's ball from close range.

Arsenal didn't have it all their own way, as the Toffees' Katja Snoeijs fired past Manuela Zinsberger, following Karoline Olesen's perceptive through ball on 24 minutes.

However, star striker Mead put the Gunners ahead when heading in Lia Walti's cross at the back post in first-half added time.

Despite a strong performance after the break, Eidevall's side were unable to add to their goals.

The result leaves Arsenal level on points with leaders Chelsea having played a game more, with Everton eighth.
