Arteta gives injury updates ahead of Arsenal vs West Ham
Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Gabriel's injury which forced the defender off during the Gunners 2-0 win vs Olympiacos
The Brazilian centre-back left the field after colliding with David Raya with 15 mintues to go, and was replaced by Cristhian Mosquera, as Arsenal posted back-to-back Champions League wins.
However, fears are rising that Gabriel will not be available against the Hammers on Sautrday.
Mikel said that while there is no long-term damage to the Brazil centre-back it is touch and go whether the 27-year-old defender will be ready to face the Irons.
Providing an update in his weekly Friday pre-match conference, Arteta said: “We will have to wait and see after training and see how everybody is. We weren't too concerned about it.”
One defender who will definitely miss Saturday's clash against Nuno Santo's West Ham is Piero Hincapie.
The Ecuadorian is suffering from a groin issue picked up after his debut against Athletic Club - but Arteta has insisted the new signing could be available again after the international break.
"We've been trying to do everything as fast as possible [to get him fit], but this game came too fast," said Arteta.
:Now we have an international break, so hopefully, after that, he will have a couple of sessions with the team and be ready to go."
Aretat also confirmed Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are still out as the trio continue their rehab.
