Ayden Heaven leaves Arsenal to join Manchester United
Ayden Heaven has left his boyhood club to join Manchester United
Ayden Heaven has joined Manchester United after an agreement was reached between the clubs for an undisclosed fee.
The 18-year-old defender played for Mikel Arteta's Arsenal in the opening 45 minutes of the Gunners pre-season tour of the US against Manchester United at Los Angeles' state of the art So-Fi Stadium last July.
Arsenal said in a statement: "We thank Ayden for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future."
England youth international Ayden made one first-team appearance for Arsenal, coming on as a substitute in the Carabao Cup fourth-round win at Preston North End back in October, and was in the matchday squad on five other occasions during this campaign
Heaven joined the Gunners renowned Hale End academy in 2019 and went on to make a combined total of 37 appearances for the U21s and U18s, also featuring 10 times in our UEFA Youth League campaigns over the past two seasons.
The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
Such a shame. Only time will tell if Ayden Heaven has made the right decision - but surely his development would’ve been better staying with the Arsenal Academy.
