Bayern Munich come from 2-0 down to beat Arsenal Women

Glodis Viggosdottir scored an 86th minute winner to condemn Arsenal to a remarkable defeat

Arsenal Women threw away a 2-0 first half lead to lose 3-2 away to Bayern Munich.

Emily Fox was on hand in the box to give the Gunners an early lead after just five minutes after Beth Mead’s shot was parried by Maria-Luisa Grohs.

The Gunners dominated the first half and Stina Blackstenius hit the crossbar before Mariona Caldentey made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute with a fine long-range effort into the top corner.

Two substitutes made the difference for Bayern. Alara Sehitler pulled a goal back on the counter attack after 67 minutes, before Pernille Harder levelled with a fantastic strike from the edge of the box with 10 minutes to go.

Bayern captain Glodis Viggosdottir sealed the turnaround with six minutes remaining, capitalising on yet another defensive switch-off from the Gunners.

Defending champions Arsenal have now lost two of their first three Champions League games.
