Arsenal continue their FA Cup run this evening with a trip to the Etihad to face Premier League champions Manchester City.

The Gunners were victorious last time out in the competition at Oxford, beating Oxford United 3-0 thanks to three second half goals.

There is no doubt that this evening’s challenge will be monumentally harder, however there’s no need for Arsenal to fear Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta has gone toe to toe so far with Pep Guardiola in the Premier League, and with Arsenal sitting five points clear, the Gunners are the team to fear in England this season.

Arsenal admittedly don’t have the best record at the Etihad in recent years, however in the FA Cup, the Gunners have found victory over City in their previous two meetings.

Both games were semi-finals, with good memories for Arsenal under the arch of Wembley.

Back in 2017, an Alexis Sanchez goal in extra time shot Arsenal into the final in which the Gunners went on to win.

A similar occurrence happened in 2020, where behind closed doors at Wembley, Arsenal were 2-0 victors over Guardiola’s side thanks to a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal won again that year, making them the competitions most decorated side.

Can history repeat itself tonight and can the Gunners make a statement win at the Etihad in front of thousands of Gooners making the trip to Manchester?
