Daphne van Domselaar set for injury return against Manchester United

Emily Fox is likely to miss the Subway Cup semi-final on Wednesday

Arsenal Women are set to welcome back Daphne van Domselaar for Wednesday’s Subway Cup semi-final against Manchester United.

The Dutch goalkeeper was sidelined in early December due to a quad issue, with summer signing Anneke Borbe keeping five clean sheets in seven games in her place.

Head coach Renee Slegers confirmed van Domselaar will be in the squad against United. Naomi Williams is cup-tied, having played three times for Bristol City in the Subway Cup group stage.

Slegers also provided an update on Emily Fox, who appeared to suffer a head injury in the FA Cup win over Aston Villa that led to her being substituted. “We assessed her yesterday and today, and we just want to make really good decisions with Foxy,” said the Arsenal boss.

“It’s looking likely she won't be in the squad tomorrow, and then we will assess her again tomorrow and the day after. That’s where we’re at now with Foxy.”

England stars Leah Williamson and Chloe Kelly remain sidelined, with Williamson out for multiple weeks due to a calf issue.
