The Ligue 1 side are understood to paying a loan fee, but there is no buy option in the deal, a reflection on how high the youngster is valued at Arsenal.
Nwaneri, 18, made his Premier League debut at 15 away to Brentford, and had his breakthought season last term, making 37 appearances – 16 starts - in all competitions, including 26 in the Premier League and seven in the UEFA Champions League, scoring an impressive nine goals in the process.
However, the talented teenager has found minutes difficult to come by this season, making 12 appearances in all competitions this season.
The Hale End graduate has been with the Gunners since the age of eight, and signed his first professional contract in March 2024 when he turned 17. Prior to signing a new long-term contract in August last year.
Attacking midfielder Ethan burst on to the scene when he made his debut as a substitute against Brentford in September 2022, becoming the youngest player in Premier League history aged just 15 years and 181 days and our youngest player in any competition.
