Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum hit a brace for Norway in an action-packed 4-3 win over Iceland.
Maanum’s first goal saw the 25-year-old finish off a well-worked attacking move, before driving at the Iceland defence to score with her weaker left foot to score what would turn out to be the deciding goal.
Norway led 4-1 with 14 minutes remaining but Iceland fought back with three late goals. Marit Lund was also shown a second yellow card for giving a stoppage time penalty away.
Whilst Norway needed just two games to seal qualification for the knockout stages, Switzerland were rescued by Riola Xhemaili’s 92nd minute equaliser against Finland.
The tournament hosts were at risk of an early exit when Natalia Kuikka gave Finald the lead from the penalty spot in the 79th minute, but Xhemaili found the net to see Switzerland into the quarter-finals.
Swiss captain and Arsenal stalwart Lia Walti has played every minute of the group stage.
