Full-back Taylor Hinds returns to Arsenal Women following Liverpool departure

Hinds came through Arsenal's academy before joining Everton in 2018

Arsenal Women have signed versatile full-back Taylor Hinds on a free transfer following her departure from Liverpool.

Hinds joined Arsenal's academy at the age of 11 before making her senior debut in October 2017 against London Bees.

She joined Everton from the Gunners in 2018 alongside Chloe Kelly, and both players have now returned to North London in the same transfer window.

Northampton-born Hinds has reportedly signed a three-year deal.

The 26-year-old spent two years with Everton before helping Liverpool win the Women's Championship title in 2021/22. Hinds became vice-captain in 2023 and helped Liverpool to a fourth place finish in the Women's Super League in 2023/24.

“I’m so proud to have signed for Arsenal,” said Hinds, who will wear the number 24 shirt.

“I want to push, compete and be winning trophies, and this club encompasses all of that. You can see what direction Arsenal is going in and everyone at the club wants to win.

“This is a full-circle moment for me and I’m grateful to come back to a place I called home when I was younger. I can’t wait to get started and to step out on the pitch at Emirates Stadium in front of all our incredible supporters.”

England youth international Hinds made her debut for Jamaica in October 2024, and can play on both sides of defence as well as in midfield.

Arsenal head coach Renée Slegers said: “We’re delighted to welcome Taylor back to Arsenal. She’s a versatile player who has great experience from multiple seasons in the WSL with Liverpool, where she took on a leadership role.

"I’m excited to get started with Taylor on the training pitch and I’m sure our supporters will join me in welcoming Taylor back to the club.”

Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley added: “Everybody at Arsenal is thrilled to welcome Taylor back to the club where she spent several years at the start of her career.

"She is a player with great quality and vast experience of top level football, and will be an excellent addition to our group as we aim to compete on multiple fronts next season.”
