Here's our legendary Gooner seller Alex as he reflects on his 20+ years of selling the Gooner before, during and after Arsenal games as part of our newsletter series on Save The Gooner.

Read on for Alex's two decades of making friends based around selling the Gooner - and how you can help save an Arsenal institution.

I have been selling the Gooner Fanzine now since August 2000 coinciding with the Leeds home game in August of that season.

Almost 23 years on I'm still selling the Gooner Fanzine along with the Gunflash, Poison Lasagne and Up The A*se publications.

In terms of longevity I suppoose I'm up there with the best of the long term servants such as Tony Adams and Frank Mclintock to name just a couple!

For me personally the Gooner Fanzine encapsulates the entire match day experience of interacting with the supporter, the public and being a football fan and lover of the beautiful game.

Over the years I've met thousands of people of all ages, genders and races which has helped me develop my burning inner passion of Arsenal Football Club and the Glorious Gunners.

Not only Arsenal though I have met and interacted with many other supporters from other clubs of all ages and other fanzine writers and sellers from across the globe.

In summary it's the closest feeling possible to being on the pitch with the feelgood factor and ultimate fan experience you get from selling copies and meeting nice people.

Please help Save The Gooner - not least because it will allow me to continue my passion, as well as help me to meet more wonderful people and make so many more new friends on Arsenal matchdays.

Alex
