Highbury Spy Extra: The Spy pulls no punches after England's draw with Belgium

As a dedicated follower of fashion, at least where football kits are concerned, I was amazed to see England take to the field in what appeared to be the Spurs grey/brown away kit.

Both are made by Nike, so I'm not surprised they found another mug as well as Spurs to foist the worst football shirt of all time on.

I thought it was supposed to be purple/maroon? That was a nice bit of subterfuge by Nike and the FA.

They were obviously petrified of teasing us with images of a 'sh*t grey' shirt.

On the pitch, the football was no better.

Gareth Southgate has his favourites, of that there is no doubt and number two (behind Harry Kane) is short a*se keeper Jordan Pickford.

The manager obviously has no faith in Aaron Ramsdale as he hasn't played him since we conceded four goals in a Nations League match versus Hungary in June 2022.

Pickford was at fault for the first Belgian goal playing out from the back straight to an unmarked Youri Tielemans who finished well. Who'd have thought it?

Pickford is to passing out from the back as orange juice is to ice cream.

Another average Joe, this Lewis Dunk, was at fault for the second Belgian goal.

And don't forget Dunk was only there because Southgate Favourite No3 Harry Maguire was rested or injured.

Quite how England ever expect to win an international football match with players like Maguire, Dunk and Pickford is beyond me, but the manager knows best.

As usual, the City players cheated.

This time John Stones feigning injury after ten minutes, just like Kyle Walker at the weekend. Some coincidence that!

Two City players go off injured in consecutive games after ten minutes.

Bet they'll be fit for the weekend though.
