Highbury Spy Extra: We're Proud of You as Arsenal's Champions League dreams end at PSG

Well what can you say about that?
We're out, but we were brilliant from the first minute to the last.
If we had any chance of winning the tie, we had to score early when we were on top and had PSG on the ropes.
Donnarumma made three world class saves to deny us, in particular from Martin Odegaard's goal bound rocket that he did well to see, let alone save.
Just as were beginning to believe, Fabian Ruiz sold Gabi Martinelli a brilliant dummy and put the hosts ahead with a great shot that nicked off Wiliiam Saliba.
From that moment on, it was uphill all the way and a real kick in the stomach. Hakimi made it 2-0 on the night with a great shot, David Raya saved a penalty that was yet another terrible decision against the Gunners and then Bukayo Saka scored to give us hope.
Sadly it was never going to be enough and we're out of the Champions League for another year.
So many high hopes dashed tonight.
If we can find performances like this at Anfield, against Newcastle and at St. Mary's on the last day of the season, we may yet finish second again for the third year running.
We really don't want to be finishing behind Manchester City yet again do we?
Hopefully we'll kick off next season with three or four new world class players including that elusive striker that could've made our progress in every completion a lot easier if we'd had one this season...
