How do you solve a problem like Eze

Hopefully Eze can kick start his season with a big FA Cup performance against Wigan

 – Mikel Arteta’s post-match comments confirmed that Eberechi Eze is still adjusting to life at Arsenal and the player himself has also offered some thoughts on this too.

The consensus is that he was Crystal Palace’s main man, the archetypal big fish in s small pond, he has struggled to adapt to life at a bigger club where not only the competition for places is far greater, the level of expectation is far higher also.

Furthermore, Eze has re-joined his boyhood club, the one he was released by as a 13-year-old and that comes with a huge amount of emotion.

Anyone who saw him introduced to the crowd before our first home game of the season versus Leeds United could clearly tell how much it meant to him to be wearing the Arsenal shirt once more – he was finally ‘home’.

I think part of his struggles to date have been while we are still figuring out his best position in the team, the best combination of midfield partners with him and the fact that he is so keen to do well given what Arsenal means to him.

He has had some great moments already since he re-joined, the hat trick in the North London Derby, the winner versus Palace, the pass to Gabi Martinelli to rescue a late point against Manchester City and his first Gunners goal away to Port Vale.

He can offer so much more though, and it is incumbent upon him, Arteta, the coaching staff and his team mates to find a way to achieve this - hopefully starting with a big FA Cup performance against Wigan on Sunday.
