Prologue
Arsenal are 90 minutes away from booking a first Wembley appearance if they can preserve their slender 3-2 advantage in this evening's Carabao Cup semi final second leg.
Ben White and Viktor Gyokeres fired Arsenal into a 2-0 lead at Stamford Bridge, helped by two mistakes from Blues keeper Robert Sanchez, only for the home side to twice fight back through Alejandro Garnacho’s pair - his goals coming either side of an excellent third for Arteta’s side through Martin Zubimendi.
If they can Arsenal win through it would be their first trip to the national stadium since the Community Shield back in August 2023, and a first League Cup final since the dismal showing back in 2018.
Arsenal were hugely dominant in the first leg at Stamford Bridge early last month, and Mikel Arteta's side really ought to have built a much stronger advantage for themselves at 3-1 up.
However the north Londoners find themselves with some work to do if we are to reach a first Carabao Cup final since the 2018 debacle against Manchester City.
Chelsea have looked steady in Liam Rosenior’s first few weeks at the helm with that first leg defeat being the only game the Blues’ new boss has failed to win.
They were able to secure an impressive win in Naples to secure automatic qualification to the last 16 of the Champions League and showed fight to beat West Ham from 2-0 down on Saturday.
Arsenal will undoubtedly go into the game as strong favourites having enjoyed a very productive weekend, again stretching our lead at the summit of the Premier League.

Arsenal vs Chelsea team news
Arsenal
Arsenal will unfortunately be without Mikel Merino for quite some time following a foot injury which will require surgery.
The Gunners will have a late check on Bukayo Saka who was injured in the warm up at Leeds, hobblign off with a hip complaint, even if Arteta confirmed it wasn't a long-term issue.
Chelsea
Chelsea were without the trio of Reece James, Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer for the first leg and those three are all expected to be available for tonight, so perhaps our visitors will pose a greater threat than the relatively meek showing at Stamford Bridge.
What the managers say:
Mikel Arteta:
We go day by day, competition by competition and we have a really tough game against a very good Chelsea side. We have the home advantage, we have a good result but we have still a lot, a lot to do tomorrow to end the right to win the final.
Liam Rosenior
We can perform in big games and it's definitely a big game on Tuesday.
I won't speak about what Arsenal or Mikel Arteta have or haven't done. That's not my concern. My concern is resting.
It's another three game week, we need to recover. It's going to be a really physical game on Tuesday and [focus on] preparing the team as best I can for that game.
