Prologue

They're talking about Arsenal potentially playing Manchester City six times this season - of course it depends on Champions League draw and FA Cup, to go with next month's Carabao Cup final - but the haters are trying to make out it will defintely happen in a bid to try and ramp up the pressure on Arsenal, as they simply can’t abide us winning again.

They should be talking about City having to go to Anfield on the back of a single league win in six on Sunday.

The only show in town is if Arsenal win today, and Liverpool beat City tomorrow, Mikel Arteta's table toppers move nine points clear…the rest is just noise.

What the managers say

Mikel Arteta

on going nine points clear on Saturday if we beat Sunderland:

The statement is that we do what we have to do, and it’s going to be a really tough match. I think they have been on an incredible run all season, and what they’ve been doing, so we know the complexity of the match.

Regis Le Bris

“We have to show the best version of Sunderland with an underdog mindset.

“They are playing at a huge level. They are impressive in the Premier League, outstanding in the Champions League.

“They are probably one of the best teams in Europe at the minute, so it’s a tough challenge, but an exciting challenge."
