Prologue

The Gunners third, and last game of their alreday successful tour of Asia takes place on Thursday at the Kai Tak Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's side eased past Serie A giants AC Milan 1-0 last week, prior to beating Newcastle 3-2 at the weekend, with both matches taking place in Singapore.

In what has been a hugely popular tour with the locals, the Gunners have also been boosted by the arrival of long-term transfer target Viktor Gyokeres, who finally signed from Sporting club de Lisbon last week.

The 27-year-old striker is expected to make his bow in red and white against Spurs, who are now led by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, after sacking spiky, underachieving Australian Ange Postecoglu.

Here's to Arsenal proving North-East Asia is red.

What the managers say:

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on a first north London derby abroad:

Well, a great idea. I think to bring football tradition, a rivalry, but at the same time to do it in a completely different country, I think it's brilliant. I think it's an opportunity for everybody to feel that and for us as well, because for our preparation, increases the competition level again and it brings a different challenge to the game and then we’re going to be so lucky to play in this incredible stadium with 50,000 people that I'm sure they're going to be super loud and passionate.

Spurs boss Thomas Frank:

"It's a great challenge besides being our biggest rivals and the first North London Derby outside the UK," Frank told reporters. "They are also right now one of the best teams, I must say unfortunately, in the world, we also need to be honest.

"In that way it's going to be a big test, but it's more than a test as against Arsenal it's not only a friendly. Of course it's a game we will do everything we can to win."

Team news:

The first north London derby on foreign soil is expected to see a sell-out in the 50,000 stadium in Kowloon, on the other side of the water to Hong Kong. Excitement is at fever pitch with Asian Gunners fans already giving Arteta's team a rapturous reception, as the dominant force in North London aims to complete its tour of Asia with a perfect record.

The club's newest signing, Viktor Gyokeres, has joined training for the first time ahead of the match, and is set to make his bow.

Defender Gabriel is said to still be short for the match, while 15-year-old teenage talent Max Dowman is expected to feature again.

This is the first match Arsenal have playing in Hong Kong since a 2-2 draw against Kitchee FC in July 2012.

Arsenal's next game will be at the Emirates, when they host Villarreal a week today, Wednesday, August 6.
