Aston Villa vs Arsenal: Kick-off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h and much more
Prologue:
Arsenal start the weekend five points clear of the chasing pack ahead of their touch lunchtime clash in the west Midlands on Saturday lunchtime.
The Gunners eased past Brentford last time out, making it 18 games unbeaten, as they gear up for their Premier League fixture at Villa Park where first will play third.
Villa for their part, came from behind to beat Brighton in a thriller on the south coast in midweek, beating the Seagulls 4-3 at the Amex Stadium, with Ollie Watkins netting a brace.
Jan Paul van Hecke and a Pau Torres own goal had put the Seagulls two up inside half an hour, but Watkins’ double, added to by Amadou Onana and Donyell Malen, saw Villa move up to the heady heights of third a point off City and six adrift of their opponents this weekend.
It promises to be an absorbing match.

Unai Emery’s Villa side have three major injury concerns, with the biggest is ex Gunners keeper Emi Martinez, who pulled out of the win at Brighton in the warm-up with a back issue. Marco Bizot will stand in.
Ross Barkley and Tyrone Mings are absent. Barkley has a knee injury and could be out until at least February, while Mings will be missing until January with a hamstring injury.
Arsenal team news
Arsenal have two injury issues stemming from their midweek win over Brentford at the Emirates.
Declan Rice and Cristhian Mosquera were both forced off against the Bees. However, Rice eased fears, insisting he would be “fine” following his calf issue.
Mosquera, meanwhile, came off just before half-time with an ankle issue.
Speaking on Friday at London Colney, Gunners boss Arteta was unsure if either player would feature against Arsenal.
He said: “We have another training session in the afternoon [Friday]. Every hour is going to be very important to see the availability. So, after that, we will decide who travels.”
